The Northern Illinois University shooting that has left at least 15 injured and the gunman dead has been described as terrifying and chaotic by students who were in the lecture hall where the “skinny white guy with a stocking cap” unloaded several rounds.
One student, George Gaynor, provided the school’s paper with the description of the shooter and gave an account of a girl being struck in the eye and another male being struck in the leg.
According to the Kishwaukee Community Hospital where several of the injured students were transported three to four of those hit suffered head wounds.
Edward Robinson gave a chilling account of the shooting, telling WLS-TV in Chicago, "It was almost like he knew who he wanted to shoot, he knew who and where he wanted to be firing at."
There have been no updates in regard to injuries sustained in the shooting that took place inside Cole Hall at the DeKalb campus.
Northern Illinois University is located about 60 miles west of Chicago.
