Most of the 13 wounded in the Northern Illinois University shooting today were shot in the head, according to a hospital spokeswoman. The shooter has died. It is unclear exactly how many were wounded in the shooting. No fatalities have been reported.
The university, located outside Chicago, canceled all classes. “It has been confirmed that there has been a shooting on campus and several people have been taken away by ambulance. All classes have been canceled on the DeKalb campus,” said the school in a statement posted on the Web site. “People are urged not to come on campus.”
It is believed that the shooter used a shotgun.
