Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) narrowly defeated Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) in the New Mexico caucus held on Super Tuesday on Feb. 5.
Clinton won in the smallest margin in New Mexico's history. The final tally was given as 73,105, or about 49 percent, for Clinton and 71,396, or 48 percent, for Obama.
Clinton received 18 delegates, while Obama received 13. Obama is still in the lead with 1,266 delegates to Clinton's 1,229.
New Mexico Democratic Chairman Brian Colon announced the results nine days after the contest. The lagtime was due to provisional and absentee ballots.
