Lynyrd Skynyrd to Perform Live at Wolstein Center at CSU April 11

Lynyrd Skynyrd will be performing live at the the Wolstein Center at CSU on Friday April 11 at 7:00 pm.

A Southern rock band, Lynyrd Skynrd gained popularity in the 1970 with Ronnie Van Zant as the group’s lead vocalist and song writer. Zant tragically died in a plane crash in 1977 with guitar player Steve Gaines and backup singer Cassie Gaines.
Basing the name on Leonard Skinner, a gym teacher at Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville Florida, Lynyrd Skynyrd was a critically acclaimed southern rock group in the 1970’s and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 13, 2006.
The band’s most popular songs include “Free Bird” and  "Sweet Home Alabama” which are now considered to be American anthems and must haves for FM radio.
The Bert L. and Iris S. Wolstein Convocation Center, also known as the Wolstein Center, is the home of the men’s and women’s basketball teams of Cleveland State University (CSU).  Located in Cleveland, Ohio, the indoor arena regularly hosts several concerts and conferences.
