Robert Plant and Alison Krauss to Perform at BJCC Arena on April 26

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss will be performing live the BJCC Arena on Saturday, April 26 at 8:00 pm.

Known as the lead vocalist for the English rock band, Led Zeppelin, Robert Plant has also established a successful solo career following the band’s break up in 1980, after the death of the band’s drummer, John Bonham.

Plant started his solo career with Pictures at Eleven (1982) which was soon followed by The Principle of Moments (1983).  Popular songs from those albums included “Big Log,” "In the Mood,” “Little by Little,” “Tall Cool One” and “I Believe.”  He later continued to work with Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck to form The Honeydrippers.  Together the group recorded a #3 hit remaking of the Phil Phillips song, “Sea of Love.”

Alison Krauss signed with Rounder Records in 1985, releasing her first solo album in 1987.  She is a well known American bluegrass country singer and fiddle player.

Krauss has been featured on Cold Mountain soundtrack as well as the Grammy winning film, O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Formerly the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center, the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC Arena) is a sports, convention and entertainment complex in Birmingham, Alabama.  The facility can seat 17,000 in the arena, 3,000 in the concert hall and 1,000 in the theater as well as has 220,000 square feet of exhibition halls in addition to the numerous banquet and meeting rooms.
