Barack Obama Picks up Service Employees International Union Endorsement

Barack Obama received yet another boost for his presidential campaign as the Democrat snagged an endorsement from the powerful Service Employees International Union on Friday.

The endorsement could help Obama offset some of the momentum Hillary Clinton has gained in Texas and Ohio and move him closer to grabbing the Party’s nomination.

With a membership of 1.8 million, the Service Employees International Union is seen as a major endorsement for candidates as it serves to foster a blue-collar support, something that will be necessary in states like Texas and Ohio.

In a matter of just two days Clinton has seen her position as the blue-collar choice take a major hit as Obama locked up the support of the United Food and Commercial Workers and now the SEIU on Friday.
