Phoenix Suns Win Game 3; Beat Lakers
Stoudemire Leads Suns to First Series Win
On Sunday, the Phoenix Suns beat the Los Angeles Lakers 118-109 in Game 3 of the NBA Western Conference Finals. Amare Stoudemire proved to be a major force for Phoenix (unlike in the first 2 games, which were both played in L.A.), scoring an amazing 42 points and making 11 rebounds. After the game, Stoudemire said, "You can never question my determination, my focus, my dedication." Steve Nash also played a crucial role, with 17 points and 15 assists. Not even Kobe Bryant (who nearly recorded a triple-double with 36 points, 9 rebounds, and 11 assists) could help the Lakers win the first series game in Phoenix. At 2-1 Los Angeles, the Lakers now lead the series by only one game, and a Celtics-Lakers Finals match-up now seems less certain than perhaps ever before.
