Tom Wilkinson Nominated for Actor in a Supporting Role in “Michael Clayton” at 80TH Academy Awards

Tom Wilkinson will be looking to win his first Oscar Award on Feb. 24 after earning a nomination for Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in the film “Michael Clayton.”

 

Wilkinson portrays an attorney whose guilt-ridden mental breakdown involving his actions in a recent lawsuit threatens to ruin his firm.

 

This is Wilkinson’s second Academy Award nomination; in 2001 he was nominated for Actor in a Lead role for “In the Bedroom.”

 

Joining Hal Holbrook in the list of nominees for Actor in a Supporting Role are Philip Seymour Hoffman, “Charlie Wilson’s War”; Casey Affleck, “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford”; Javier Bardem, “No Country for Old Men”; and Hal Holbrook, “Into the Wild.”

 

The 80th Academy Awards will air Feb. 24 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
