Van Halen to Perform Live at the RBC Center March 7

Van Halen will be performing live at the RBC Center in Raleigh, North Carolina on March 7 at 8:00 pm.

A hard rock band from Pasadena California, Van Halen was formed in 1972 and released their self titled debut album in 1978. The band sold over 80 million albums worldwide by the year 2007 and has had several number one hits on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.

Although the Recording Industry Association of America reports that the band is the 19th best selling band of all time, with salves of over 56 million albums in the US, Van Halen may be better known for the dramatic exits of its former band members. Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth left the band several times and were constantly surrounded by controversy and mass press coverage. Michael Anthony, the founding bassist, was recent kicked off of the band for controversial reasons. Yet despite the band’s inner turmoil, Van Halen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 12, 2007.

Originally the Raleigh Entertainment and Sports Arena, the RBC Center is the home of the Carolina Hurricanes of the NHL and the North Carolina State University Wolfpack men’s basketball team of t he NCAA Division I.

The Raleigh based indoor arena accommodates 19,722 for basketball and 18,730 for ice hockey, which includes 75 luxury suites and 2,000 club seats.
