PostcardMania Alum Opens Up Boutique in Miami

Geebin Flores branches out of the corporate world to follow her entrepreneurial dreams.

Clearwater, FL May 2010 – In January, Geebin Flores resigned from her executive position at PostcardMania and headed for Miami to open her dress boutique located in the heart of South Beach, the perfect spot for her Miami-nightlife inspired designs.

“Ever since I can remember, I have wanted to be a fashion designer,” says Flores. “It was a tough decision to leave PostcardMania as I had been working there for almost 10 years! Everyone at PostcardMania is like family to me and I have always looked up to Joy (CEO and founder). But working in the fashion industry has always been my dream and I knew that ultimately this would make me happier…seeing girls in my dresses make me happy.”

Flores started designing and making garments for her dress line ‘Geebin’ for friends and family while working as an executive at PostcardMania. Geebin’s dresses quickly became popular in the club scene and she soon found her dresses in Ocean Drive, a boutique store located at International Mall in Tampa.

Joy Gendusa, CEO of PostcardMania, couldn’t be happier, “Geebin has always been like a daughter to me, a daughter with great style!” says Gendusa. PostcardMania is currently creating a catalog and website for Geebin’s new line to jump-start her marketing. “Geebin’s dresses are going to be a big hit. I hope she doesn’t forget us when she’s famous!”

Geebin will be celebrating the grand opening of her new Miami boutique on June 12th. Doors open at 8:00pm at 811 Washington Ave. Miami Beach, FL 33139.

About Geebin Flores:

Born the middle daughter of Jorge and Leticia Flores in Eagle Pass, Texas, Geebin grew up surrounded by her two sisters and her beautiful mother who loved to dress her daughters up in the latest children's fashion. Geebin and her sisters would accompany their mother to the seamstress for fittings where the seamstress would sew outfits for them. Since early childhood, Geebin loved designing clothes and drawing fashionable women. From then on she developed the passion to create and design dresses. She started hand sewing at the early age of 7.

After scouring all the local malls and boutiques looking for a dress to wear to a party and finding the same dresses in every store, Geebin had to make do with one dress from the local mall. As she walked into the party and realized to her horror that not one but two other girls attending the party were wearing the same dress! This was the breaking point that motivated her to start her own fashion line and to give Tampa Bay what it needed, a unique fashion boost! The idea behind her eponymous label is to create her own collection of beautiful dresses for women that want to break the mold and wear a one-of-a-kind piece.
