Discovery of Brianna Denison Puts Reno on High Alert for Serial Rapist

Confirmation that the body discovered in an open field on Friday was that of 19-year-old Brianna Denison has put Reno, Nevada on high alert for a serial rapist who has struck at least two other victims in the area.

Denison disappeared almost one month ago after visiting friends at the University of Nevada in Reno. On Saturday an autopsy revealed that the body discovered a day earlier was that of the Denison and showed she had been strangled after being sexually assaulted.

Reno Police were able to link DNA evidence gathered from her body to two other attacks in the area, giving rise to the belief that they are now dealing with a serial rapist.

University of Nevada President Milton Glick has urged students to take heightened precautions while police continue their search for a suspect.
