United Nations Worker Falls from 19th Floor of Secretariat Building

A woman who worked for the United Nations died on Sunday after apparently falling from the 19^th floor of the Secretariat Building located in New York.

Initial reports indicated that the woman, said to be in her 40s, leapt to her death after arriving at work early in the morning. Her body was found in an area behind the building.

U.N. deputy spokeswoman Marie Okabe confirmed the death in a statement, “A U.N. agency staff member died after falling from the 19th floor of the U.N. Secretariat Building. At this time there is no suspicion of foul play.”
