Ebay Boycott to Begin Today

The eBay boycott is set to begin today as sellers are protesting new upcoming fee and policy charges the web site announced late last month. The new policies will be put into affect February 20.

Sellers are concerned that the new policies will cost them more money. They are also concerned that the adjustment to eBay’s feedback system will leave them more vulnerable to scammers. As part of eBay’s new adjustments, sellers will no longer be able to leave comments about their buyers.

The week long boycott is being monitored by eBay officials. “At this point it’s still premature for us to speculate. We’re empathetic with our sellers and understand that they’re concerned, and that some of them object to some of the changes we’re implementing. On the other hand, we think we have very good reasons for what we’re doing,” said eBay spokesman Usher Lieberman.
