The company specializes in catastrophe and risk excess reinsurance.  The business includes property catastrophe excess of loss, property pro-rata, property catastrophe retrocessional, property risk excess and marine excess and aerospace excess reinsurance products.  The company merged its wholly owned subsidiary, PXRE Group with Argonaut Group Inc in August 2007.
