Radiohead will
be performing live at the Nissan Pavilion on May 11 at 7:30 pm.
Fronted by
Thom Yorke, the English alternative rock band from Oxfordshire first came out
with their first single, “Creep” in 1992 and then their debut album, Pablo
Honey in ’93. Despite the group’s unsuccessful start, “Creep” became a
worldwide hit a year after its release. The band continued to release seven
albums in total throughout their career and sold over 23 million records.
Radiohead albums include The Bends (1995), OK Computer (1997), Kid A (2000),
Amnesiac (2001), Hail to the Thief (2003) and In Rainbows (2007).
An outdoor live performance amphitheater, the Nissan Pavilion at Stone Ridge is
the largest venue in the Washington Metropolitan area which can hold up to
25,000 people. The facility first opened in 1995. The first performance at the
venue was The Village People. Later acts featured Rush, James Taylor, Stevie
Nicks, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Nine Inch Nails, Aerosmith, Godsmack,
311, Linkin Park, Poison, Sting, KISS, Steely Dan, Toby Keith Def Leppard,
Roger Waters of Pink Floyd, the Vans Warped Tour and Ozzfest. The Allman
Brothers Band, Brooks and Dunn, Jimmy Buffet and the Dave Matthews Band have
played at the pavilion every year since its opening.
