Neil Young to Perform at the Apollo Hammersmith March 6

Neil Young will be performing live at the Apollo Hammersmith on March 6 at 6:30 pm.

A Canadian singer, songwriter, guitarist, pianist and film director, Neil Young is known for his deep lyrics, distinctive guitar work, his signature nasal tenor voice and his folk like acoustic rock style music, such as in “Heart of Gold,” “Harvest Moon” and “Old Man” as well as his electric hard rock heard in “Cinnamon Girl,” Rockin’ in the Free World” and “Hey Hey My My (Into the Black).”  Young has directed several films under the name Bernard Shakey.  His films included Journey Through the Past (1973), Rust Never Sleeps (1979), Human Highway (1982) and Greendale (2003).

Young will be touring through Europe this year visiting the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Denmark and the United Kingdom.

A major entertainment and concert venue, the Hammersmith Apollo is located in Hammersmith, London, England.  The venue was designed by Robert Cromie in Art Deco Style and opened as the Gaumont Palace in 1932.

The venue has hosted several performances by artists, such as The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young.  David Bowie performed his last show as Ziggy Stardust at the Apollo Hammersmith in 1973.  In addition, the facility has also presented stage productions, such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
