Postcards from PostcardMania: Direct Mail Marketer Loves St. Jude Kids

PostcardMania CEO continues to give back and share her love by sponsoring promotions for radio station WQYK’s 17th Annual "Country Cares for St. Jude Kids" Radiothon.

Since Randy Owen, lead singer of country supergroup ALABAMA, helped launch Country Cares for St. Jude Kids in 1989, the program has become one of the most successful radio fundraising events in America.  Today more than 200 radio stations across the country have raised more than $315 million in pledges for the children of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®

When direct mail marketing CEO, Joy Gendusa of PostcardMania, was asked by Tampa Bay country music station WQYK to donate her design and printing services to promote the event, she agreed with a resounding yes.

A couple of years ago, Joy created a probono division within her company strictly for the donation of design and printing of direct mail postcards for non-profit organizations working to help mankind.  Recently reported in BtoB magazine, Gendusa said it was a natural progression to expand her company’s printing lines to add a probono division and said the fact that she is a printer makes printing for non-profits a no-brainer.  “It’s so easy for me to build those costs in to my budget.  It’s costing me paper, ink and plates, [but] it makes it an easy way for us to give back,” she added.

PostcardMania was noted by Inc Magazine as being the fastest-growing direct mail marketing company in the nation.

WQYK has been broadcasting country music in the Tampa Bay area for 28 years and is frequently reported at the top of the Arbitron ratings.  They have also been the recipient of the Country Radio Broadcasters Humanitarian Award the past three years and have been caring for St. Jude Kids for 19 years now.  During their recent St. Jude Kids Radiothon held on February 14th-15th, they raised over $327,000 for the cause, making that a total of over $5.5 million dollars raised since they started.

“It only made sense for us to ask PostcardMania to donate the printing,” said Heidi Heinz, Director of Marketing and Promotions for WQYK.  “Our two companies are very active in the helping our community so it's only natural that we both started working together on projects.”
