On Feb. 10 art thieves entered the museum moments before it was scheduled to close and held the staff and a few patrons at gunpoint while four paintings were stolen.
While van Gogh’s “Blooming Chestnut Branches” and Monet’s “Poppy field at Vetheuil” were recovered paintings from Edgar Degas and Paul Cezanne remain missing.
The heist was believed to be among the largest in European history with the four paintings valued at $163 million.
