The much expected lunar eclipse will take place Wednesday, February 20, 2008.
The total lunar eclipse starts at 8:43 p.m., when the Earth's shadow first begins to obstruct sunlight illuminating the full moon. By 10 p.m., a reddish haze will cover the entire face of the moon. The full eclipse will last for 52 minutes.
Unlike many astronomical phenomena, a telescope will not be needed to view the lunar eclipse. Any person looking into the sky will be able to view one of nature's infrequent anomalies.
The next lunar eclipse will not occur until Dec. 21, 2010, for the next full lunar eclipse.
