Gears of War 2, the second installment of the Gears of War franchise, is a third-person shooter video game developed by Epic Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios. It is expected to be released in November 2008.
Gears of War preorder sales were second only to Halo 2 in the history of Microsoft Game Studios. Gears of War was also the first Xbox or Xbox 360 game to sell out and reach the top ten charts in Japan.
In its first ten weeks on sale, the original Gears of War sold over three million units.
Gears of War 2 will be released on Microsoft XBox.
