Hollywood Legend Dennis Hopper Dies Following Battle with Prostate Cancer

Hollywood legend Dennis Hopper has died, losing his lengthy battle with prostate cancer on Saturday morning. Hopper was 74-years-old.

 

Hopper’s manager Sam Maydew released a statement confirming the actor’s death, saying “Dennis Hopper died this morning at 8:15 am from complications of metastasised prostate cancer. He died at home in Venice surrounded by family and friends.”

 

Hopper cemented his status as a Hollywood icon with films like Apocalypse Now, Hoosiers, Easy Rider and Blue Velvet, picking up an Oscar nomination for best screenplay for Easy Rider, a film he co-wrote with Peter Fonda who starred alongside him in the movie. He also earned a best supporting actor nomination for his role in Hoosiers.
