Serena Williams cruised in her first set but appeared to take the second set off before regaining form in the third to beat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-1, 1-6, 6-2 in the third round of the French Open at Roland Garros.
Serena had 27 unforced errors including six double-faults but in the end she was just too powerful for the Russian as she broke her serve five times and collected points on 68 percent of her first serves put in play and a solid 53 percent on her second serves.
Williams has achieved a career Grand Slam with five wins at the Australian Open (2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010), three titles at the U.S. Open (1999, 2002, 2008), three at Wimbledon (2002, 2003, 2009) and a French Open title (2002).
