An Air Force pilot was killed on Wednesday when his F-15C Eagle collided with another Air Force pilot while training off the Florida Panhandle above the
Both pilots were based at nearby Eglin Air Force Base and had been participating in a routine training exercise about 35 miles south of Tyndall Air Force Base.
Immediately following the crash a search for the two pilots was launched and a Coast Guard rescue jet located one pilot who has now been listed in good condition. The surviving pilot said he saw the other pilot eject but lost sight of him when they went through clouds.
The pilot was able to give a rough estimate of where the pilot was and a Coast Guard helicopter located the body.
