Lynyrd Skynyrd to Perform Live at Grand Casino Hinckley Amphitheater August 1

Lynyrd Skynyrd will be performing live at the Grand Casino Hinckley Amphitheater on August 1 at 8:30 pm.

A Southern rock band, Lynyrd Skynyrd gained popularity in the 1970 with Ronnie Van Zant as the group’s lead vocalist and song writer. Zant tragically died in a plane crash in 1977 with guitar player Steve Gaines and backup singer Cassie Gaines.

Basing the name on Leonard Skinner, a gym teacher at Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville Florida, Lynyrd Skynyrd was a critically acclaimed southern rock group in the 1970’s and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 13, 2006.

The band’s most popular songs include “Free Bird” and "Sweet Home Alabama” which are now considered to be American anthems and must haves for FM radio.

East of I-35, the Grand Casino Hinckley Amphiteater is an hour north of the Twin Cities in Hinckley, Minnesota, providing guests with an escape from the city.

The venue is one of the state’s largest casinos with a game floor comprised of over 2,000 video slots, 28 blackjack tables and live bingo five days a week.
