Rage Against the Machine to Perform at Rock Im Park June 7

Rage Against the Machine will be performing live at Rock Im Park in Nurburg, Germany, June 7.

 Los Angeles born, the American heavy metal band, Rage Against the Machine is headed by Zack de la Rocha with Tom Morello on guitar, Tim Commerford on bass and Brad Wilk on the drums.  Drawing inspiration from Public Enemy and Afrika Bambaataa, the group is known for their unique blend of hip hop, heavy metal and punk as well as la Rocha’s stage energy and rhyming style and Morello’s guitar techniques.

The band released their first album, self titled, in 1992.  After their appearance in the 1993 Lollapalooza, the band did not release an album until 1996 when they released Evil Empire.  Another three years later the group released a third album, The Battle of Los Angeles.  The group, however, broke up shortly after the release of their fourth album, Renegades, in 2000.

La Rocha went on to form Audioslave with Chris Cornell of Soundgarden.

One of Germany’s most popular events, Rock Im Park will be featuring an awesome line up of musicians June 6-8.  Among the 85 bands to play, Metallica, Die Toten Hosen, Rage Against the Machine, Sportfreunde Stiller, Nightwish, Motorhead, Babyshambles, Bullet for my Valentine, In Flames, Dimmu Borgir and the Hellacopters have all confirmed that they will be performing.

The event is held annual at Germany’s Nurburgring, often simply called “the Ring.”  It is a motorsport race track in Nurburg that was built in the 1920 near the medieval castle of Nurburn in the Eifel.
