Police have found the bodies of as many as 25 people in an abandoned silver mine in southern Mexico and authorities suspect the bodies to be those of victims of drug gang violence.
According to authorities the mine appeared to be a dumping spot as the bodies had been tossed down a ventilation shaft over a period of time. The abandoned silver mine is located near the city of Taxco in Guerrero state, an area that has a long history of gang violence.
An arrest on Friday led police to the silver mine and upon discovering the bodies police noticed many had their hands and feet tied, a detail that is common in drug gang violence.
