Neil Young to Perform at the Apollo Manchester March 12

Neil Young will be performing live at the Apollo Manchester on March 12 at 7:00 pm.

A Canadian singer, songwriter, guitarist, pianist and film director, Neil Young is known for his deep lyrics, distinctive guitar work, his signature nasal tenor voice and his folk like acoustic rock style music, such as in “Heart of Gold,” “Harvest Moon” and “Old Man” as well as his electric hard rock heard in “Cinnamon Girl,” Rockin’ in the Free World” and “Hey Hey My My (Into the Black).”  Young has directed several films under the name Bernard Shakey.  His films included Journey Through the Past (1973), Rust Never Sleeps (1979), Human Highway (1982) and Greendale (2003).

Young will be touring through Europe this year visiting the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Denmark and the United Kingdom.

Located in Manchester, England, the Manchester Apollo rests between MEN Arena and Manchester Academy.  Commonly called The Apollo, the venue can hold up to 3,500, with 2,514 standing and 986 seats.

The Apollo was built in 1930 as the ABC Cinema Ardwick, a cinema and variety hall, and opened by actress Margaret Lockwood.  The facility now hosts several concerts and events throughout the year, featuring popular artists.
