Stanley Cup: Blackhawks Take 2-0 Lead

Update on the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals

The Chicago Blackhawks beat the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 on Monday night to take a 2-0 lead in the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals series. The first 2 goals of the game were scored in the second period, when Marian Hossa and Ben Eager of the Blackhawks each scored a goal within a 28-second span to give Chicago a 2-0 lead going into the third period. Chicago goalie Antti Niemi was the star of the third period, making 14 of his 32 saves during that period. Adam Burish, who plays forward for the Blackhawks, said of his teammate Niemi that "He was special tonight. Niemi was unbelievable in that third period. Some of the pucks, I don't know how he saw them." Niemi, who is playing his first season in the NHL, said of his amazing game that "it's always a little bit about the luck, too, how you see the puck, and how it bounces." Game 3 will take place on Wednesday, June 2, at 8 PM. (Sources: ESPN.com)
