Emergency workers in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador have continued their efforts to reach communities cut off by Tropical Storm Agatha, the storm that has left at least 150 people dead since hitting on Saturday.
Guatemala was the hardest hit with officials saying as many as 123 people are confirmed dead and that toll could rise significantly as rescuers dig through mud and rubble, all that is left of many small communities due to landslides.
With more than 3-feet of rain falling on parts of Guatemala the country stood little chance as rivers burst their banks, causing massive flooding and land to slip away. In the Guatemalan capital of Guatemala City a giant sinkhole swallowed a number of buildings.
While Guatemala was the hardest hit there were 14 deaths reported in Honduras and 9 in El Salvador but those numbers could jump as well as access to the worst areas remains difficult at best as roads and bridges have been wiped away.
