Elena Dementieva has made amends for her disappointing 2009 French Open performance that ended in a third round loss, moving into the semifinals of the 2010 French Open following a three set victory over Nadia Petrova 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 on Tuesday.
Dementieva looked sluggish in her opening set but bounced back in the next two sets, capitalizing on her opportunities as she collected six break points in ten opportunities. The Russian captured points on 66 percent of her first serves put in play and a solid 61 percent on her second offerings.
Dementieva has yet to capture a Grand Slam singles title but has reached the finals at the U.S. Open and French Open in 2004.
