Erykah Badu will release her fifth album New Amerykah, Pt. 1: 4th World War Tuesday. This is her first album in five years.
The Universal Motown LP is expected to offer the same type of sound that Badu fans are used to. She has teamed up with Sa-Ra, Madlib, 9th Wonder, and Baduizm/Mama's Gun vets Karriem Riggins, James Poyser, and Ahmir Thompson.
Badu's first three albums were multi-platinum, but her last album in 2003, Worldwide Underground, sold just 609,000 copies.
The album's first single "Honey" peaked at #29 on the US R&B charts.
