Ferrum College in Virginia Placed on Lockdown after Security Breach

Ferrum College, located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, is currently under lockdown following a security breach on campus that triggered the school’s alert system.

The Ferrum College Web site noted “In the best interest of the Ferrum College students, faculty and staff, we have put the college into a lockdown as a result of a possible situation on campus. There have been no incidents or injuries. Authorities have been notified and are on campus and in control.”

The school is home to some 1,000 students.
