Starbucks Closing All Stores Today

Starbucks is closing 7,100 stores in the United States this afternoon beginning at 5:30. CEO Howard Schultz says the closing is only temporary and stores will reopen at 8:30 tonight.

Schultz says the closing is meant to energize Starbucks 135,000 employees. During the three house employees will participate in a “barista re-education.” Schultz returned to being CEO in January and is focusing on boosting Starbucks growth.
