Naomi Campbell has been hospitalized in Sao Paulo and is being treated by one of Brazil's top infection specialists, the hospital's press office said on Tuesday.
Campbell, a frequent visitor to Brazil who earlier this month celebrated Carnival in the northeastern city of Salvador, was hospitalized Sunday in Sao Paulo's Sirio Libanes Hospital.
Reports have not detailed the exact infection that Campbell is afflicted with.
The 37-year-old supermodel made headlines recently for interviewing Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez for the February issue of British GQ magazine.
"I found him to be fearless, but not threatening or unreasonable," she wrote. "I hope Venezuela's relations with America will improve in the immediate future."
