Teens Claim They Were “Too Pretty To Fly”

A pair of 18-year-old Florida girls claim they were treated unfairly by Southwest Airlines because employee thought they were too pretty. Best friends Nisreen Swedberg and Sarah Williams say they the crew on their flight from Tampa to Los Angeles were rude to them because of the way they looked.

Swedberg, a University of South Florida student, said she asked a flight attendant for a bottle of water. The teen claims the attendant told her she had to wait until everyone else on the plane was served. “And I patiently waited and then when they came around with water, they skipped me,” she said.

Williams said she and another passenger exchanged profanity after the man was in the bathroom for 15 minutes. Williams said she knocked on the door and when he finally came out he began screaming at her.

She says the crew only questioned her about the incident and never spoke to the man about it. “I think they were just discriminating because we were young decent-looking girls. I mean, nobody else on the plane looked like us except us,” she said.

Southwest airlines said the Oldsmar teens cause a disruption on the flight and banned the girls from ever flying on their planes again, including their flight back to Florida.

Once the plane landed in Los Angeles, the girls were escorted by four officers and questioned by the FBI.
