Summer Camp PUMPS UP THE FUN and Teen Motivation

At SuperCamp, an academic teen summer camp, there are equal parts fun and focus. Thanks to the summer camp’s dynamic staff that is trained in the engaging, high energy style of Quantum Learning teaching methods, kids are entertained while they learn.

SuperCamp's innovative approach to the summer enrichment program employs an interactive, multi-sensory style of learning that helps students retain what they learn. This, in part, is why there is such lasting value from just 7 or 10 days at SuperCamp.

So, while the kids are having fun, they’re learning valuable new academic skills in reading, writing, math, memory, studying, critical thinking and test-taking. Life skills instruction is woven throughout the 10 days of camp, as well, which helps the students gain confidence, self-esteem and motivation to set goals and achieve those goals.

SuperCamp’s middle school summer camp, for students entering 6th to 8th grades, is the seven-day Junior Forum. “Junior Forum is a magical blend of games, music, celebration and challenging outdoor activities,” says Bobbi DePorter, who is President of Quantum Learning Network. “The students who attend have so much fun, make new friendships, and gain a love of learning that can last a lifetime.”

DePorter goes on to explain that the “secret ingredient” that makes Junior Forum so successful is the many “success moments” that the SuperCamp staff orchestrate during the session for each child. As a result, the children leave at the end of the seven days with a true feeling of accomplishment and confidence in their ability to succeed at anything they put their minds to.

SuperCamp runs three programs: a Junior Forum for students entering grades 6-8, a Senior Forum teen summer camp for students entering grades 9-12, and Quantum U, a college boot camp for incoming and current college freshmen.

Founded almost 30 years ago by Bobbi DePorter, a pioneer in accelerated learning, SuperCamp teaches the whole person and contains specific core elements that when used together, empower students to learn faster, retain the information better and enjoy the process. Evidence of the program’s success is found in a doctoral study of over 6,000 former SuperCamp participants, which showed that 73 percent of graduates improved their grades, 84 percent reported gaining self-esteem and 98 percent said they continued to use some or all of the skills they learned.
