LeBron James Larry King Interview
King Interviews The King
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the "Larry King Live" program, CNN will air an interview in which King asks the soon-to-be free agent LeBron James some questions that a lot of us would like to know the answer to. The interview, which airs on Friday, marks the first time that the King (LeBron, not Larry) talks to the media since the post-game interview that he gave after the Cleveland Cavaliers were eliminated in the Eastern Conference semi-finals by the Boston Celtics. Ever since then, there has been a lot of speculation about where James will decide to play. Some fans, including U.S. President Barack Obama, have said that James would look good in a Chicago Bulls uniform. Others would like to see him go to Miami and possibly team up with former NBA Finals MVP Dwyane Wade. But, since James has not yet made a final decision, there is still the possibility that he will continue to play for Cleveland, the only NBA team that he has ever played for. When asked by King if the Cavaliers have an edge, James responded, "Absolutely. Because, you know, this city, these fans, I mean, have given me a lot in these seven years. And, you know, for me, it's comfortable. So I've got a lot of memories here. And -- and so it does have an edge." But James also explains that his ultimate concern is to join a team with whom he can finally win an NBA Finals title, so maybe it is time that he tries his luck with another team. "Well, I mean, to me, I think my ultimate, my ultimate goal is winning championships," James said. "And I understand that me going down as one of the greats will not happen until I, you know, win a championship." James also addressed the idea of some kind of a summit between him and the other NBA stars who will soon be free agents, including such players as Wade and Chris Bosh; "It will be fun to get all the free agents together and, you know, figure out a way how we can make the league better," James said. The full interview can be seen on Friday on CNN. (Sources: ESPN.com)
