Joran van der Sloot a Suspect in Murder of Woman in Peru

Joran van der Sloot is the prime suspect in the murder of a woman in Peru, Peruvian authorities announced Wednesday. Van der Sloot, who was a suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Natalie Holloway in Aruba, is suspected of killing 21-year-old Stephany Flores Ramirez in a Lima hotel room.

Criminal police Chief Gen. Cesar Guardia said there is “incriminating evidence” linking Van der Sloot to the murder.

Ramirez was found Wednesday wrapped in a blanket in a hotel room registered to Van der Sloot. She had been brutally stabbed.

Police say Van der Sloot left Peru Monday and fled to Chile. No other details were available.
