William F. Buckley Dies At 82

Conservative commentator William F. Buckley Jr. died last night in his Connecticut home. The 82-year-old was found dead by his cook. His assistant Linda Bridges said Buckley had been suffering from emphysema at the time of his death.

“He died while at work. It he has been given a choice on how to depart this world, I suspect that would have been exactly it. At home, still devoted to the war of ideas,” said editor of the National Review Online, Kathryn Jean Lopez.

Buckley founded National Review magazine in 1955. He was known for his political writings in the Review. Buckley also has a TV show, ‘Firing Lane.’
