Bobby Cutts Jr. Sentenced to Life in Prison

Bobby Cutts Jr., the former Canton, Ohio police officer convicted of killing his pregnant girlfriend Jessie Marie Davis last June, was sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday with no chance of parole for 34 years.

Cutts was facing the death penalty after being found guilty of murder in relation to Davis’ death and aggravated murder in the death of their unborn child.

Cutts, 30, admitted on the stand that he had accidentally killed Davis, 26, with an inadvertent blow to the throat. Sobbing throughout his testimony Cutts, a former Canton, Ohio police officer, gave a detailed account of how he had tried to free his arm from Davis’ grip when he struck her in the throat.

After failing to find a pulse he then tried to revive her with bleach but there was no response.  He then wrapped her body in a comforter, placed the body in the back of his truck and dumped the body in a field.
