Billy Joel to Perform Live at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival April 26

Billy Joel will be performing live at the Fairgrounds Racetrack in New Orleans for the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on April 26 at 5:00 pm.

American singer and songwriter, Billy Joel released “Piano Man,” his first hit song in 1973.  He is reported to be the sixth best selling recording artist in the United States by the RIAA.

The six-time winning Grammy Award winner has had Top 10 hits in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and has sold over 150 million albums worldwide.  Joel was also inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 1992, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Long Island Music Hall of Fame in 2006.

Technically Joel “retired” in 1993 from recording pop music, but he continued to tour on occasion with British pop singer, Elton John.  The singer returned to recording with his 2001 release of Fantasies & Delusions, classical piano compositions and later recorded “All My Life” and released it in 2007.

Located in the middle of New Orleans, the Fairgrounds Racetrack is the host of New Orleans’ largest attraction, the Jazz and Heritage Festival.
