Time Is Running Out For Summer Camp Enrollment

Summer camps, whether they are academic summer camps, teen camps, kids camps, science camps or sports camps, are filling up quickly as the majority of schools across the nation have officially ended for summer vacation.  This also means that, once again, summer has crept up on parents who are frantically trying to make summer plans for their families.

Such was the case last year at SuperCamp, the academic summer camp with nine locations at colleges throughout the U.S. “We started last summer with over 200 kids on our waiting list,” said SuperCamp president, Bobbi DePorter. “I felt bad for them, but their parents waited a little too long to enroll them in one of our camps.”

Luckily for parents, there are still a few spots left at most of this summer's SuperCamp teen summer programs. In response to the demand SuperCamp has been seeing in recent years, the popular summer camp has added more sessions and moved its midwest program to the heart of the country, Lake Forest Academy in Illinois.

With SuperCamp’s Junior Forum and Senior Forum programs for teens and pre-teens being 10 days in length, it does require some planning ahead by parents who are trying to sort out the summer’s agenda for the entire family. It is not too late, however, to do this. 

The good news is, if parents can’t get their son or daughter into their first choice in a SuperCamp location, chances are they can find an open spot at one of the other eight colleges. All sites are outstanding venues, from Stanford in the west to Brown in the east.

Parents should be aware, however, that SuperCamp’s Quantum U, SuperCamp’s college boot camp for incoming college freshmen are offered only at one location, Colorado College in Colorado Springs.
