Cribs Recalled Due to Fall Hazard Posed to Infants
Munire Furniture Inc. has issued a recall for several of their baby cribs after it was discovered the products failed to meet the federal safety standard for cribs.
According to the recall the four support brackets on the mattress support spring are too long. Because the brackets prevent the spring from lowering to the minimum height in its lowest position infants inside the crib can crawl over the railing.
The recall affects about 24,000 wooden cribs under the names: Majestic Curved Top model #9500; Majestic Flat Top model #9000; Essex cribs model #7100; Brighton/Sussex cribs model #9100; and Captiva model #5100.
The crib recall is only for those manufactured between Nov. 1, 2005 and Nov. 1, 2007.
