Foo Fighters will be performing live at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba on March 25 at 7:30 pm.

The American rock band formed by ex Nirvana drummer, Dave Grohl, the Foo Fighters written several hit songs since their formation in 1995, six months after the death of Kurt Cobain.  The name was inspired by the World War II term “foo fighter” which is in reference to mysterious aerial phenomena otherwise known as UFOs.

With a global following, Foo Fighter hits include, “This is a Call,” “Everlong,” “Learn to Fly,” “All my Life,” “Times Like These,” “Best of You,” “DOA,” “The Pretender” and “Long Road to Ruin.”  Three of the band’s six albums have received Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album and in addition to their studio albums, their work has also been included in movie soundtracks such as “The One” featured on Orange County (2002).

An indoor arena, the MTS Centre is located in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba.  The venue is owned by Truth North Sports & Entertainment Limited.  MTS opened on November 16, 2004 after $133.5 million was spent on the construction of the 440,000 square feet facility.  I replaced the Winnipeg Arena, which demolished after the opening of MTS.
