Foo Fighters to Perform at the Credit Union Centre March 27

Foo Fighters will be performing live at the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada on Thursday, March 27 at 7:30 pm.

 

The American rock band formed by ex Nirvana drummer, Dave Grohl, the Foo Fighters written several hit songs since their formation in 1995, six months after the death of Kurt Cobain.  The name was inspired by the World War II term “foo fighter” which is in reference to mysterious aerial phenomena otherwise known as UFOs.

 

With a global following, Foo Fighter hits include, “This is a Call,” “Everlong,” “Learn to Fly,” “All my Life,” “Times Like These,” “Best of You,” “DOA,” “The Pretender” and “Long Road to Ruin.”  Three of the band’s six albums have received Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album and in addition to their studio albums, their work has also been included in movie soundtracks such as “The One” featured on Orange County (2002).

 

Previously the Saskatchewan Place or SaskPlace, the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, opened in February, 1988 and could seat 7,800.  In 1991 the facility was expanded, increasing the capacity to 11,300 for the World Junior Hockey Championships.  The venue can hold up to 13,000 for concerts.
