Born in Hawaii, Jack Hody Johnson is an established signer and songwriter, musician, filmmaker and surfer who’s enjoyed his commercial success following the debut of his first album, Brushfire Fairytales in 2001. Since then, Johnson has released five albums and several EPs. His music of often described as being that of an acoustic, soft rock, adult alternative feeling.
Johnson’s albums include Brushfire Fairytales, On and On, In Between Dreams, Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George and Sleep Through the Static.
Johnson directed a film with his friend from film school, Chris Malloy entitled Thicker than Water (2000).

The Festival joins environmental organizations, eco-friendly businesses, musicians, artists, teachers and community leaders in the hopes of promoting environmental awareness in Hawaii. Having a strong concern for the environment, Johnson notes on the back cover of his latest album, Sleep Through the Static, the album was recorded using solar energy. Additionally, the first song of the album, “All at Once” warns about global warming and climate change.

The facility also hosts the annual River Festival featuring community carol performances for Sing for Water, the fundraising portion of the event.
