Sportingbet PLC (SBT) to Release Q2 2008 Earnings March 4

Sportingbet PLC (LON:SBT) will release the second quarter earnings for 2008 on March 4.

An online sports betting and gaming company, Sportingbet operates within European focused sports, casino and Paradise branded poker business and the Australian sports business.

The company sold its US sports betting and casino business on October 12, 2006.  Paradise poker was kept, however US residents were denied access.

The company entered a three year casino and poker contract with Boss Media to use the software to power its casino and poker offerings in February 2007.  The majority of the Paradise Poker players switched to the Boss Media network afterwards.

Sportingbet acquired the business and assets of its Turkish and marketing partner in February 2007.  In addition the company also purhchased 40% shareholding in Sportingbet Italia S.p.A, increasing its total to 90%.
