Spc. Ivette Gonzalez Davila appeared in court Monday on two counts of murder and one count of kidnapping in a sadistic crime.
Davila, 22, entered Pierce County Superior Court in Washington to face charges that she fatally shot a husband-and-wife Army medic couple and then poured acid over their bodies before taking off with the couple's infant daughter.
Prosecutors believe that Davila, an active duty member of the honor guard, returned to her barracks at Fort Lewis Sunday afternoon with the 6-month-old child and told a fellow soldier she was baby-sitting, according to a court declaration.
Davila later allegedly confessed that she had killed the baby's parents, identified Monday as Timothy Miller, 27, and Randi Miller, 25.
The Millers, two Army medics who worked at the Madigan Army Medical Center, were found Sunday night in a bath tub inside their Parkland, Wash., home off base. Timothy Miller was shot while showering; Randi was shot in bed.
According to the prosecutor's declaration, Davila took the baby to a home-improvement store after the killings, bought muriatic acid and then returned to the house and poured it on the corpses.
Prior to the murders, Davila had been corresponding with Randi and Timothy Miller through the personal networking Web site MySpace.com. In recent months, Davila had posted four short notes on each of the Millers' sites, most recently on Feb. 11, telling Timothy she would be coming over.
On her own site, Davila posted several racy photos, including several of herself, as well as two shots of semiautomatic handguns.
