Ray Allen Makes NBA Finals History

Future Hall of Famer

In case you missed it on Sunday night, Ray Allen of the Boston Celtics made NBA Finals history during Game 2 of the 2010 NBA Finals by scoring the most three-points ever made in an NBA Finals game with 8. Allen is well-known, of course, for his incredibly consistent ability to hit three-pointers off of a quick release, so his first three or four consecutive three-pointers were, while very impressive, not particularly surprising. But then came the fifth, and the sixth, and the seventh. At that point, Allen had already tied the all-time single-game record with seven consecutive shots, and it was only the end of the first half! As would be expected, the Los Angeles Lakers made it more difficult for Allen in the second half, but he still managed to make the record-breaking eight shot during the third quarter. Allen ended the game 8 for 11 from the three-point line, an NBA Finals that will probably not be broken any time soon by anyone, except maybe Allen himself.
