Stanley Cup: Blackhawks Win Game 5
Chicago Takes the Lead Again
After having lost their last two games against the Philadelphia Flyers, the Chicago Blackhawks took charge of the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals series for the second time with a 7-4 victory at the United Center in Chicago. Now leading the series 3-2, the Blackhawks dominated the first period, going into the second period 3-0. The scoring was even for the rest of the game with both teams scoring 2 goals in each of the next two periods. Unfortunately, the Flyers would have needed to do more in those periods to take their first lead of the series. Dustin Byfuglien, who led Chicago in scoring with 2 goals, said of the victory, "We had to change things up. We didn't really have time to sit and think about who we were playing with... It was just going out there and playing together as a team and moving our feet and doing the right things." Ville Leino of the Flyers said, "I think we were a little nervous. Nobody wanted the puck. We didn't make plays. We were just giving it to the net. We've got to be smarter and work harder." The Flyers won both of their home games so far, and the next game will be played in Philadelphia, so there is the exciting chance that the Flyers could tie this series 3-3 at home and force a Game 7, which would take place in Chicago.
